Grappa of Vernaccia di San Gimignano

The Grappa of Vernaccia di San Gimignano is also produced from Vernaccia grapes. The way in which it is distilled makes significant contribution to the preservation of its aroma, namely the old and expensive caldaine method of the ILP Martelli distillery, and the elimination of the "head and tail" of almost 50% of the distillate.

Characteristics

This grappa is crystal clear. When you look at it you can see it is clear and intense as a spirit should be. An olfactory examination reveals a good number of scents that go well with the quality of its overall scent. The scents that make up the olfactory bouquet are all clear, neat and clean. When describing its olfactory sensations it is easy to identify grass, white fruit, anise, vanilla and white flowers. Its taste is quite harmonious on the palate: the alcoholic sensation it gives is strong to the point of being prickly on the back of your tongue, although it is accompanied by really good body. The after taste gives a sensation of warmth because of the amount of alcohol in the spirit, which is the first thing you notice, and after this there is a pleasant confirmation of the grassy leaves which leaves the mucosa almost velvety, and which shows how well the spirit has been prepared.

It is excellent to put the finishing touches on a fine meal or as a liquor to be offered to guests and friends.
